Just a Rumor

Director Mark W. Travis takes a scene from his screenplay, “Just a Rumor,” to demonstrate his unique way of working with actors, not by directing them, but by freeing them to release the characters they naturally embody.

Using the Travis Techniques of Interrogation, Simultaneous Monologues, Creating History, Pause & Clip, Hide & Seek Subtext and Roadblock Staging, each character is brought to life spontaneously – moment to moment, layer by exquisite layer. The Travis Technique is an inspiration to “direct by not directing” and to trust the creative potentials of actors in collaboration with directors.
